"Variety is the spice of life" part 1

I have been doing some research into our family tree. This might very much interest you if you are a blond or red head like my family, but even just if some of your family originally can be traced to somewhere in  Europe. This series will simply share with my readers as usual, what facts I've just learned myself. I will mostly quote others first, (some technical stuff of which I admit, I don't fully understand), leaving my remarks and any personal biases to the last. So hold on through the dry stuff, or you will need to come back to understand the next posts. I will underline anything of particularly note. So here goes!

Let me tell you a little about Albinos first.

Red and violet

"Red" albino eyes
The eyes of people with severe forms of albinism may appear red under certain lighting conditions owing to the extremely low quantities of melanin, allowing the blood vessels to show through. (An organism or person with complete absence of melanin is called an albino an organism or human with only a diminished amount of melanin is described as albinoid.) In addition, flash photography can sometimes cause a "red-eye effect", in which the very bright light from a flash reflects off the retina, which is abundantly vascular, causing the pupil to appear red in the photograph. Although the deep blue eyes of some people such as Elizabeth Taylor can appear violet at certain times, "true" violet-colored eyes occur only due to albinism.

"The gene OCA2  that causes the pink eye color and hypopigmentation common in Albinos, is also strongly associated with blue and green eyes. . .. The appearance of blue, green, as well as hazel eyes results from the Rayleigh scattering of light in the stroma, a phenomenon similar to that which accounts for the blueness of the sky. Neither blue nor green pigments are ever present in the human iris or ocular fluid. Eye color [of all but brown eyes] thus varies depending on the lighting conditions. . . Those who have albinism in a less severe form have the lightest blue eyes with no melanin on the front of the iris at all, but they have dark brown coloration on the back of it, to prevent light from scattering around inside the eye.

Most babies who have European ancestry have light-colored eyes [at least] before the age of one. As the child develops, melanocytes . . . slowly begin to produce melanin. Most eye changes happen when the infant is around one year old, although it can happen up to three years of age. Observing the iris of an infant from the side using only transmitted light with no reflection from the back of the iris, it is possible to detect the presence or absence of low levels of melanin.
A genetic mutation leads to blue eyes. . .Originally, we all had brown eyes."

Distribution of light-eyed people in Europe.

As you can see, it seems that the gene for blue eyes had an origin and got diluted from there to the rest of Europe.

Though the people with blue eyes in America came from European descent, "the melting pot of the world", time and interbreeding has made the gene mutation less and less common with only 16.6% of the total population, and 22.3% of the white population having blue eyes.

In those with milder forms of albinism, the color of the iris is typically blue but can vary. Source

Like blue eyes, gray eyes have  a relatively clear stroma.
One possible explanation for the difference in the appearance of gray and blue eyes is that gray eyes differ in the concentration of melanin at the front of the stroma. Gray eyes are also most common in Northern and Eastern Europe. . . Under magnification, gray eyes exhibit small amounts of yellow and brown color in the iris.

  1. Green is the least common eye color and as in the case of blue and grey eyes, the color of green eyes does not result simply from the pigmentation of the iris. Rather, their appearance is caused by the combination of an amber or light brown pigmentation of the stroma, given by a low or moderate concentration of melanin, with the blue tone imparted by the Rayleigh scattering of the reflected light.
Green eyes are most common in Northern and Central Europe. They can also be found in Southern Europe. . .

    Hazel

Hazel eyes are due to a combination of Rayleigh scattering and a moderate amount of melanin in the iris.

In a study published in Human Genetics  it was shown that a mutation of the HERC2 gene,  is hypothesized to interact with the OCA2 gene. . .  This genetic mutation in our chromosomes resulted in the creation of a 'switch,' which literally 'turned off' the ability to produce brown eyes." The genetic switch is located in the gene adjacent to OCA2 and rather than actually completely turning off the gene, the switch merely  limits its action. Reducing the production of melanin in the iris. In effect, the turned-down switch diluted brown eyes to blue. If the OCA2 gene had been completely shut down, our hair, eyes and skin would be melanin-less, a condition known as albinism.

In humans, there are two principal types of albinism, oculocutaneous, affecting the eyes, skin and hair, and ocular affecting the eyes only.

    Types of Albinism

While most people with albinism have very light skin and hair, not all do. Oculocutaneous (pronounced ock-you-low-kew-TAIN-ee-us) albinism (OCA) involves the eyes, hair and skin. Ocular albinism (OA), which is much less common, involves primarily the eyes, while skin and hair may appear similar or slightly lighter than that of other family members.

Over the years, researchers have used various systems for classifying oculocutaneous albinism. In general, these systems contrasted types of albinism having almost no pigmentation with types having slight pigmentation. In less pigmented types of albinism, hair and skin are cream-colored and vision is often in the range of 20/200. In types with slight pigmentation, hair appears more yellow or red-tinged and vision may be better. [I.e, the less albinisim the better the eyes are.]
Recent research has used analysis of DNA, the chemical that encodes genetic information, to arrive at a more precise classification system for albinism. Four forms of OCA are now recognized – OCA1, OCA2, OCA3 and OCA4; some are further divided into subtypes.
    • Oculocutaneous albinism type 1 (OCA1 or tyrosinase-related albinism) results from a genetic defect in an enzyme called tyrosinase (hence ‘ty’ above). This enzyme helps the body to change the amino acid tyrosine into pigment. (An amino acid is a “building block” of protein.) There are two subtypes of OCA1. In OCA1A, the enzyme is inactive and no melanin is produced, leading to white hair and very light skin. In OCA1B, the enzyme is minimally active and a small amount of melanin is produced, leading to hair that may darken to blond, yellow/orange or even light brown, as well as slightly more pigment in the skin.
    • Oculocutaneous albinism type 2 (OCA2 or P gene albinism) results from a genetic defect in the P protein that helps the tyrosinase enzyme to function. Individuals with OCA2 make a minimal amount of melanin pigment and can have hair color ranging from very light blond to brown.
    • Oculocutaneous albinism type 3 (OCA3) is rarely described and results from a genetic defect in TYRP1, a protein related to tyrosinase. Individuals with OCA3 can have substantial pigment.
    • Oculocutaneous albinism type 4 (OCA4) results from a genetic defect in the SLC45A2 protein that helps the tyrosinase enzyme to function. Individuals with OCA4 make a minimal amount of melanin pigment similar to persons with OCA2.

Something that is common to albinos are eye issues, resulting from abnormal development of the eye because of lack of pigment. These include one or more of these:

    • legal blindness
    • age related macular degeneration
    • increased risk of uveal melanoma
    •  horizontal back and forth movement of the eyes
    •  muscle imbalance of the eyes, “crossed eyes” or “lazy eye”.
    •  sensitivity to bright light and glare
    •  far-sighted or near-sighted
    •  have a stigmatism
    • the retina does not develop normally before birth and in infancy
    • Optic nerve misrouting: the nerve signals from the retina to the brain do not follow the usual nerve routes
Now look at this chart from the 2010 USA stats of eye problems by race. (Keeping in mind the albino genes seem to be one with the genes of the white race. . .and that the albino gene is often a recessive gene in other races in the USA.)

The leading cause of blindness among white persons was age-related macular degeneration (54.4% of the cases), while among black persons, cataract and glaucoma accounted for more than 60%of blindness.

Cataracts are often an effect of eye injuries and diabetes. . . African Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, American Indians, and some Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islander Americans are at particularly high risk for type 2 diabetes. Basically, "minorities have a higher prevalence of type 2 diabetes than whites." (Curable by a good diet BTW)

Some of the causes of glaucoma (that lead to most of the rest of the eye problems in minorities)  include: an injury to the eye, severe eye infection, inflammatory conditions of the eye, and occasionally eye surgery to correct another condition. (Like cataracts.)

Considering the high rate of minorities with type 2 diabetes, and also the high rate of minorities in sports or rough jobs, as well as in gangs, it seems likely that the vast majority of eye problems of minorities in the USA are lifestyle induced, as opposed to the genetic issues facing the person with light eyes.

Well, we can see the fascinating difference in the eyes of the albino. . . leading me to say that an albinoid is basically a person with light eyes. . . but what about their hair? What does a person with very low levels of melanin in their hair look like? Here's what I learned:

"Hair color is the pigmentation of hair follicles due to two types of melanin: Phaeomelanin, and Eumelanin.
Eumelanin is the dark pigment which is predominate in black hair. Phaeomelanin is a lighter pigment, which is found in red and blond hair. Many people's hair contains a mixture of the two: the more eumelanin there is in the mixture, the darker is the hair.

Blond hair can have almost any proportion of pheomelanin and eumelanin . . . More pheomelanin creates a more golden blond color, and more eumelanin creates an ash blond.

Natural blond hair is rare in adulthood, with some reports that only about 2% of the world's population is naturally blond. Blond hair is most commonly found in Northern and Eastern Europeans and their descendants [in America], but can be found spread around most of Europe.

Blond hair is exceptionally rare among those without European heritage. . . Sub-saharan African has the lowest [rate of blond hair]. . .

    Auburn hair

The chemicals which cause auburn hair are eumelanin (brown) and pheomelanin (red), with a higher proportion of red-causing pheomelanin than what is found in average brown hair. It is most commonly found in individuals of Northern and Western European descent.

    Chestnut hair

Chestnut hair is a hair color which is a reddish shade of brown hair. In contrast to auburn hair, the reddish shade of chestnut is darker. Chestnut hair is common among the native peoples of Northern, Central, Western, and Eastern Europe.

    Red hair

Red hair ranges from light strawberry blond shades to titian, copper and less commonly "true" red. It is caused by a variation in the Mc1r gene and is recessive. Red hair has the highest amounts of pheomelanin, around 67%, and usually low levels of eumelanin. At 1-2% of the population, it is the least common hair color in the world. . .

For the majority of us, each individual hair strand has three layers. The layers (starting from the outside) are the cuticle, cortex, and medulla. Fine texture hair usually associated with
Europeans, Australians, and Americans, typically only has two layers. The inside of the hair, the medulla, is often missing, so hair can be limp and look thin naturally.

Medium texture hair is thinner than coarse hair but not as thin as fine hair. Medium is in between the two. Medium is also the most common type of hair texture.

Hair that is very thick or wiry in texture is referred to as coarse hair. Coarse hair is strong and may be ultra straight or ultra curly.

Now let's talk about what that Melanin (or lack of it) does to the skin: Melanin in the skin controls the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun that penetrates by absorption. UV radiation can then assist in the production of vitamin D.

There are two types of melanin. The most common form of biological melanin is eumelanin. Eumelanin is found in hair, areola, and skin, and the hair colors grey, black, yellow, and brown. In humans, it is more abundant in people with dark skin.

The genes responsible for the variations in coloring (melanin)

between the albino skin, hair, and eyes, and the black skin,

    hair and eyes, are these:

    SLC24A5

"Solute carrier family 24 member 5 (SLC24A5) regulates calcium in melanocytes and is important in the process of melanogenesis. TheThr111Ala allele (rs1426654) has been shown to be a major factor in the light skin tone of Europeans in a number of studies. The Ala111Thr or rs1426654 polymorphism in the coding region of the SLC24A5 gene is frequent in and mainly restricted to populations in EuropeNorth Africa, the Horn of AfricaWest AsiaCentral Asia and South Asia. It is believed to represent some 25–40% of the difference in skin tone between Europeans and Sub-Saharan Africans, and appears to have arisen as recently as within the last 10,000 years.

    [edit]SLC45A2

Solute carrier family 45 member 2 (SLC45A2 or MATP) aids in the transport and processing of tyrosine, a precursor to melanin. It has also been shown to be a major factor in the skin color of modern Europeans through its Phe374Leu (rs16891982) variation. Like SLC24A5 it is ubiquitous in European populations but extremely rare elsewhere.

    [edit]TYR

The TYR gene encodes the enzyme tyrosinase, which is involved in the production of melanin from tyrosine. It has an allele, Ser192Tyr(rs1042602), found solely in 40–50% of Europeans and linked to light-colored skin in studies of mixed-race South Asian] and African-American populations.

    [edit]OCA2

Oculocutaneous albinism II (OCA2) assists in the regulation of pH in melanocytes. The His615Arg (rs1800414) allele has been shown to account for about 8% of the skin tone difference between African and East Asian populations. It is found in 85% of East Asian samples and is non-existent in European and African samples.

    MC1R

The gene MC1R is primarily responsible for determining whether pheomelanin and eumelanin are produced in humans. Mutations of this very polymorphic gene have been shown to cause red hair and pale skin that does not tan in a small percentage of the human population. Although these alleles have differing frequencies across African, European and Asian populations, there is no evidence of positive selection for them and they do not appear to be associated with the evolution of lighter skin in Eurasian populations."

     Source

"Dark skin with large concentrations of melanin protects against exposure to ultraviolet light and skin cancers; and light-skinned people have about a tenfold greater risk of skin cancer, compared with dark-skinned persons, under equal sunlight exposure.  Excessive solar radiation causes direct and indirect DNA damage to the skin.  It would have, on the other hand, represented a health benefit to have light skin in reduced sunlight,  [Like humans living in caves, or underground or where the light source was further away. . .]  as it maximizes the synthesis of vitamin D."

The leading hypothesis for the evolution of human skin color proposes that:
    1. From ~1.2 million years ago to 10,000 years ago, the ancestors of all people alive were dark-skinned Africans.
    2. As populations began to migrate out of Africa, sometime around 10,000 years ago, the evolutionary constraint keeping skin dark dark, proportionally to the distance North a population migrated, resulting in a range of skin tones within northern populations.
    3. At some point, northern populations experienced positive selection for lighter skin due (presumably) to the increased production of vitamin D from sunlight and the genes for darker skin disappeared from these populations.
A number of researchers disagree with this and suggest that the northern latitudes permitted enough synthesis of vitamin D [for even a black person] combined with food sources from hunting to keep populations healthy, and only when agriculture was adopted was there a need for lighter skin to maximize the synthesis of vitamin D. . .This theory is supported by a study into the SLC24A5 gene which found that the allelle associated with light skin in Europe may have originated as recently as 6,000–10,000 years ago which is in line with the earliest evidence of farming."
    Source

"Scientists conclude that the mutation [that leads to the light skin, as well as the blue eyes and the red and blond hair] may have arisen in a single [or a few] individual(s), probably living in the northwestern part of the Black Sea region [of Europe] . . . 6,000–10,000 years ago during the Neolithic revolution." Update on my blog, for my faithful supporters.

For those of you curious about my blog. I am not going to tell you that I've written a blog that's gone exactly viral or something, but as I am nearing my 10,000th pageview, it seems a good time as any to give a little bragging update.

While my friends on Facebook have accounted for about a measly 450 of those views, the vast majority of those views have come from those who are just randomly searching Google. Proof to me that those who are curious, and looking, are usually the only ones who will find answers.

From May 1st of 2012, to now, I have seen my blog appreciated by those around the world. These are the stats broken down by countries.
     United States
    6131
    United Kingdom
    568
    Canada
    423
    Australia

    India
    140
    Germany
    135
    France

Of course, a lot of that can be explained by Wikipedia's Demographics of atheism  Which makes a very interesting read!

I would be curious just how many reading this are Atheists or Agnostics already though. . .or if they became one after reading my blog. I know of at least one who left a life deeply entrenched in his cult-like upbringing, partially because of my influence. . . but I'd hope there were more. I've heard of so many stories where the more educated one got, the more they ran from religion. (At least organized religion. . which another few of my friends have confessed to me.)

I don't claim to be a smart professor in college or something, but I hope nonetheless that by quoting some smart people and info from them,  I can challenge your mind to question things that you were always so sure about, and  get your mind thinking about life in a deeper, more skeptical way. (And sorry if that traumatizes you first before enlightening you. . .maybe I should blog on the best tricks to help your health in a stressful time.)

I hope you faithful readers, not brave enough yet to subscribe, will feel free to at least comment, so we can get together on Facebook or something. (I'd love to hear how my blog has influenced your life.) I will even erase your comment if you ask me to, for added anonymity.

I'm sorry that my blog is slow as of late, but I have some huge and touchy posts I'm working on right now. . .instead of the book I was toying with writing, trying to actually make some money on my writing for a change. The world needs more free info I figure, not trees cut for paper books.

So thanks to my readers, and all the encouragement their numbers are to me. Thanks to my church friends for their support. (At the Unitarian Universalist church in my area.) Thanks for my family for giving up the time with me, and freeing me up at many times so that I could change the world. This Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for! Peace to all.

Why I've changed my political stance dramatically since leaving religion.

As a conservative Christian, I use to believe that I should merely pray for my leaders, obey all authorities, give unto Caesar what was Caesars, (taxes) and I also believed that all leaders were ordained of God to bring about God's will. So I saw no point in getting involved in politics or even voting, as "All things work together for good" anyhow. To this day I find it quite pathetic that Christians feel they should get involved in politics, and wish there were actually more Bible believing Christians like we were. That way the unbiased nonreligious voters would not be so steamrolled by the conservative right wing. . . A group that is literally not able to separate church from state.

It is hard for a country to respect a president who by his religious stance is inevitably judging most everyone else as deluded or stupid to not believe his truths are absolutes. Whereas a Christian with a very open and inclusive belief about God, (Deist, Unitarian) allows that Christian to treat nonbelievers fairly and equally. I can see that kind of a "closet Christian" doing pretty well in politics, like Lincoln. Often a leader that spouts a bold religious stance is usually one who has something to prove to both himself and others, and will show himself hypocritical, unteachable, and very biased. Not very appropriate in a leader of anything, IMO.

Anyhow, as for my political story, It was a fast transformation of my personal responsibility after ditching religion. For the first time in my life I felt a connection and empathy for the plight of my fellow man. Also a responsibility to be involved in this world I live in, knowing that this life is all that I'm guaranteed. I realized that no one else was going to fight my battles for me, or stand for the underdogs of society, as much as I wished or prayed for it. (And history proved it pretty well too.) I could no longer blissfully stand by watching this world go into the hands of the rich and powerful, while loosing the freedoms this country was famous for. I saw now how instead of God choosing these leaders for any good, short term or long, religion has always been used to control people and make them submit. . . like sheep led to the slaughter.

So to say the least, I did a 180 degree turn in my involvement with my community, and politics in general! Come to find out, that is actually very common of people coming out from under the oppression of a controlling religion. Many nonreligious people online echoed what I have done and also heard from friends at my Unitarian Universalist church as well. (That church is a very politically active and humanitarian minded denomination of very loosely religious-if at all religious- people BTW.)

I found a group of ex-fundamental Christians online who were asked the question: "What influence has dropping religion had to your political involvement and stance?" These were the answers:

"Stayed conservative for the most part, but gravitated towards the libertarian side of the movement.
Also came to realize politics is all manipulation. The manipulation scares me. Civil discourse (about politics to Christians) has increasingly become an impossibility."

"I am tempted to give up politics altogether, but part of maturity is to realize your place in whatever “movement” you ally yourself with. While I may have heartfelt ideological leanings, I realize the part I play – a balancing force against those diametrically opposed, whether they be conservatives, liberals, and associated extremists."

"As I’ve evolved from a know-it-all Fundy, I’ve realized that there are many things that I just don’t know. There’s a lot I don’t understand about religion and faith, and that’s carried over into politics for me. I don’t know the answers to our country’s problems. I don’t want to say that I just don’t think about it, but I have found that it’s not the best use of my time to dwell on and try to come up with solutions to the problems we have. As a result, I don’t watch much news or political commentary (I used to watch O’Reilly religiously), and I don’t allow myself to get in to political debates with others. I’ve found that by not worrying and forming opinions all the time, I get much more accomplished that’s close to my heart. And I’m much less annoying. "

"My move out of/away from Christian fundamentalism had reverberations throughout my life. Politically, I moved from being a very conservative Republican who could barely wait for my dad to finish the latest edition of National Review to read it each month, to being both economically and socially liberal. A great deal of that had to do with, as others have mentioned, finally being able to separate religion/spirituality and politics. Part of it was a realization that what I thought was most important to achieve in society was far better served in reality by a more liberal/progressive political approach than a conservative one. And part of it was firmly recognizing that America is, and has been, a secular state, and I would like it to remain so.
Politically I’m still conservative, but I no longer pay attention to what religion or church a candidate claims to be a part of (or that other people claim they are a part of). I’m concerned about them actually being good leaders with good policies, and wherever they go or don’t go on Sunday’s is irrelevant."

"I vote for whoever I think is better, or at least who I think will do the least amount of damage (the latter is becoming more and more frequent, sadly.)"

"Heal the sick. Feed the hungry. Accept those who are different. Jesus was more liberal then conservative."

"Since my time in the pen, I mean Hyles-Anderson, I have changed 180 Degrees. I consider myself a Liberal without apologies, and believe Jesus would have been too."

"Big government isn’t bad; Big IRRESPONSIBLE government is the problem …"

"Went from typical religious right knee-jerk republican to liberal democrat. Now I know neither party is to be trusted. Our country’s political problems are way beyond the radical right and looney left as portrayed by Fox News and MSNBC. We are more of a plutocracy than a democracy. Our government is no longer responsive to “we, the people”. I think republicans are totally crazy and while democrats may say things I agree with during the election season, they are only beholden to big money/corporate interests. The idea that Obama is a communist or even a socialist is absolutely laughable."

"Republicans were liberal and morally repugnant to me and the Democrats were messengers from Satan or people that just hated God.
That’s how I was. I’m closer now idealistically to being a Democrat, but the abortion issue and simply not trusting politicians is what keeps me from being a card carrying member of any party. I’m simply not ok with some things, so I don’t vote. When I do vote, I normally write in the name of a good person I know."

So, if these folks sound like stupid, loose moraled, Liberals, you be the judge. Considering though these people's involvement, sense of responsibility and concern for all man equally, while no one is controlling them. . . it seems prudent to me to consider their words, since they've been in your shoes.

Do I have to be the family dentist now too?!

Well, today I had a miserable experience at the dentist. I was so stressed and mad, I had to go tour a Lowes nursery and eat at a buffet before going home. I find that I need to put myself in nature, and nature in myself, before I can feel better. (It's my form of meditation.) My chiropractor tells me I have stress induced adrenal fatigue as it is right now, so while not wanting to make it worse, I've just got to tell what happened today!

Remember when I blogged on what happened to my son's teeth because of Prednisone, a drug I briefly took while nursing him? (I blogged on it here .) Well, as the damaged teeth came in more, I could see how weak they looked at the roots, but wasn't sure what we should do about it, and when. He isn't even 2, and to think of him in a hospital setting getting knocked out to get fillings, just didn't seem right! So until they seemed to bother him, I was kind of just hoping to rebuild his enamel and hold off until he was at least able to understand better, so he wouldn't be so traumatized. Well, due to a little accident, of someone lightly popping him in the mouth, (we won't name names) it broke in half one of those 4 damaged teeth. (The fact that it hit the lip, and there was no blood tells you just how tiny and fragile a tooth it was.)

So we felt forced to do something. . .So I called around to find the first dentist who would take a two year old, and found out that in our city we don't have much for choices. So I got an appointment for the next day and hoped for the best.

So the next day I went in there for the first time ever and found this old dentist who immediately made my son cry. He didn't even talk to him or smile, just wanted me to drop him down by himself and be examined. I finally coaxed him into being brave, and letting the dentist have a good look. The dentist, without so much as poking the "stains" to see if there was any decay, pronounced, "I think it's all decay." Then he asked if I breastfed him. (In my mind, I was thinking, he's going to say how at least I gave his teeth the best possible start through good nutrition, but no. . .) To which I proudly replied, "I'm still nursing him." Then he asked, "do you nurse at night and nap times?" To which I replied back "yeees. . ." (Getting suspicious now that he wasn't going to pat me on the back for nursing my son.) Then he dropped the bomb: "You have ruined your boy's teeth by nursing him like that." So I went on to explain to him some facts of how the nations and peoples who have the best teeth worldwide, (many while hardly brushing their teeth,) all nurse their children "Biologically". (Long, on demand, and without any other pacifier use.) So what sense did that make when we are the country with not only a bad diet, (Which is usually the real cause for bad teeth) but rampant use of drugs. Most of which drugs woman aren't warned about avoiding with a baby in the womb, much less a nursing baby!
Furthermore I said to him that all sorts of people online have had the same issue of enamel erosion, and we know effects of drugs on children is always worse, and that most things go through the milk, so why wouldn't it have been the drug that caused the lacking enamel? I told him how a 6 month old just doesn't have teeth rot from milk in any normal circumstances, and how my other kids teeth were practically perfect. He told me that he was the authority, and this would be the first case he'd ever heard of for drug induced bad teeth, and he's sure that it's just too much nursing that causes ruined baby teeth. He was also convinced that there was no point in covering the teeth to protect them with a veneer, as I suggested, as in his opinion they were already full of decay. (Which he admitted that he had no proof of without an x-ray.) So he wanted to take away more tooth, and put almost a cap on all 4 teeth, while my son was knocked out. . .which would be a very invasive, expensive procedure in the hospital.

Is it just me, or is that really stupid?

Numerous fallacies are involved in that dentist's reasoning: one I believe is that bacteria is the cause of tooth decay.
This is on par with believing that fevers and cholesterol are bad, because they are found at "the scene of the crime". Yes, there is a bacteria that is at the site of unhealthy teeth, and live milk bacteria is likely there too, but that by no means tells us that it is the culprit of the decay. We only need to experiment on other cultures to see if that diagnosis holds up to testing. . .it doesn't. The theory of a bad bacteria causing decay (that passes from mother to kids and her husband because of sharing food and kissing) has issues though.  Like how can they differentiate what she passes to them genetically or through her germs, from what she feeds them, or how she taught them to eat? Unless a woman with bad teeth (the bad bacteria)gives up her newborn baby for adoption to a family with perfect teeth, and then the kid has horrible teeth later in life, I don't see an easy test for that problem. . .

What we do see is the harm of eating grains, (especially whole ones), that have not been soaked, sprouted, or traditionally soured with a natural yeast starter for 8 hours. When I met my husband he had perfect teeth, and mine were horrible. . .like the rest of my family's teeth. He ate sugars and white everything, and I was a health nut. When we got married though I started cooking all the whole grains for him and not only did he have some GI issues start, but he got his first cavities. Of course he blamed my "germs", and threatened to stop kissing me:) That was the start of my suspicions on the real cause of cavities. . .

Later I read that cultures that switched to a man made yeast for quicker breads, instead of the "long ferment" with a natural or wild yeast, (around 1980) started having a host of health issues start up because of it. . .including teeth decay! Cultures that didn't, still have great teeth, even when they have sugar! As a matter of fact, I have a personal testimony about that: My Mother in law was once a very young inexperienced mother, and regularly filled her babies bottles with pop. (Thankfully they were also nursed long.) If any baby should have had rotten teeth, her first should have had. . .They were perfect though. Along came her second baby, and she got smarter and gave him less pop if anything, but instead of his teeth being perfect too, his were in an identical pattern of discolored, and crumbled enamel in a perfect line on the top 4 teeth only, just as my baby's teeth were, and they showed up at about the same age.  Was it the sugar, or something else? (All 4 of her boys ate lots of sugar, and no whole grains, and otherwise had perfect teeth)Well, she claims that it was a drug she took while nursing that destroyed his teeth as well. This one was called Tetracycline though. It too had the common effect of bone loss on the individual taking it, which is likely going to cross over into developing teeth of your nursing child. If she had've gone to a dentist like me though, she probably would have been told that it was because she nursed her son too long as well. It makes me wonder how many woman have been kept from exposing a drug for it's side effects to babies simply because the drug companies, and their puppets the dentists, are telling everyone that the nursing women are to blame for not wiping or brushing the sugars of the milk off of the gums and teeth of their babies after every nursing? It seems to me that nursing woman have become the unwitting scapegoats of the pharmaceutical company.  Doesn't that discourage long nursing, further discouraging good health of the future generations? Is it possible that some people want a sick nation, because there's no money in good health? Just a thought. Whatever the case, I'm not going to a dentist again (except for a cleaning) anytime soon.

One lesson I learned in a cult.

Besides the obvious -that people can be sincerely wrong- I learned a key lesson both about myself and others. And that was: how to(usually)tell a person isn't convinced in their heart/conscience about what they are saying. (Of course I believed at the time that it was that they were being led by Satan or their passionate sin nature, and not God, so I could just dismiss away what they had to say. . .) Like the joke of the pastor's outline that read, "shout and pound pulpit here, weak point", there is a characteristic tendency here that boils down to this: If a person is fighting passionately hard to persuade you of his truths, while arrogantly putting himself above correction, don't trust him. . . because he's not even sure of it himself! Not only has this been true of me in the past, (Yes that was very humbling to realize) but I see this as a pattern in some very prominent leaders in society today.

Think about the leaders you listen to, and analyze them with me:  Are they opinionated, strong willed and just jerks even to their own followers or anyone who kindly tries to teach them anything? Or are they teachable, humble and able to be learning constantly?

I use to think that this trait of leaders being arrogant was unique to Fundamental Pastors. Like the saying goes, "Fundamentalism means never having to say 'I'm wrong'." It's actually quite classic to a lot of leaders though! (Just more common in conservatives Christians probably because they grew up already arrogantly and passionately believing they had all truth.) Leaders like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'reilly, Ray Comfort (pretty much all evangelists. . .it's just the nature of the job.), Ken Ham. . .I can even find people like the popular health blogger, the Healthy Home Economist, who's advice I generally like, but because of her arrogant, opinionated and unteachable nature (even when proved wrong by people who are authorities on the subject,) I stopped listening to her just on principle. (I didn't want to add to her ego.)

While it takes a lot of passion to be a leader, it doesn't take a lot of humility, in fact, if you had it before you got put into power, you are not likely to keep it afterwards. While it is bad to be proud, it doesn't stop there. . . In this age of information, when you are proud and unteachable, that naturally leads to being uninformed. Choosing to thus be uninformed because you would rather be "right"in your own eyes or have faith in your source, is just plain dumb now I realize.  When I trusted in my own wisdom, faith and passion in the past, it led me astray. . .(even if only rarely.) If and when I am not willing even today to let others reason with me, or if I only allow myself to listen to or read approved sources for truth, (lest I change my mind or I "fall away"). . .That will only make me ignorant, and/or behind the times. (Inevitably I will have to be part of a small group who are likewise either stupid, or sticking their heads in the sand arrogantly believing themselves to have truth that trumps the rest of the educated world. They will at some point have to find humility in reality, and have some scary backtracking to do because of their following . . .at which point they will either gain respect and self esteem, or choose to live a lie for awhile longer.)

So are the people you following proud, unteachable, and arrogant, as a general rule? You may like most of their advice, but if they are trying to lead,( while being left in the dust because of their arrogance,) they may not be the leaders you think they are, so much as followers of yesterdays wisdom.

You know what a leader is, right. . .? One who's just slower then the rest of us:) Or so it seems while driving! And speaking of, Have you ever noticed that anyone going slower than you is an "idiot" and anyone going faster than you is a "maniac?"
So one could say that the leaders (slow ones) are usually idiots, whereas the one's
actually going somewhere (the progressive ones) are looked down upon by those following the idiots. There's a moral for those gullible followers here if you look. . .like as in driving, a humble person looks for reasons for the behavior, and doesn't merely let prejudice guide his presumptions and judgments. (My husband will tell you a common saying of mine when being passed up by a speedy driver is, "maybe he was driving his pregnant wife to the Hospital. . .)

So is there hope for those arrogant, unteachable leaders?

In my experience, and from what I have seen, we need to first remove ourselves from leadership for a while. . . where we are more likely to objectively look at ourselves. You see, when you are in a ministry (or any leadership position,) you are going to be too busy preaching your thoughts, and the latest defense for them. You will not likely to give any time to research anything that might actually change those thoughts. Also, as a leader you have a lot of invested interest into not looking into or considering openmindedly any info that would cause you to lose face, or your position . . .(For this reason, there are teachers and professors as well as pastors who are forced to live a lie!)

You are also going to be told by your many gullible followers just how wonderful, talented and smart you are, and you aren't likely to second guess yourself or be humble with all the constant flattery. Only people who are humble, nonjudgmental and scientifically minded are able and willing to look into the reasons why another person thinks something different then you. Which is why any moral or scientific progress happens and is encouraged by teachable and humble people. . .

Next I will discuss how the progressive thinkers in the churches have always been considered the wise and teachable (even Christ-like) leaders when looking back on them, but were the heretics of their time!

Was Hitler right? (Big can of worms I open in here!:)

I know this is a touchy subject, and yet, I found it a fascinating study, that needs to be brought into the light for discussion. I'm not claiming to believe this, but I do find it pretty compelling evidence.

So here are the facts: Archaeology has uncovered for us that highly advanced civilizations have been here before us. They seemed to have peaked to their highest level,  just to be eventually destroyed by some great catastrophe. But for each race that has died out, another has taken its place. . . with a select few holding on to the memories and sacred knowledge of the past. Who man came from and when did he come, have always been the eternal questions... Did we come from the stars... or where we just molded from clay? In our vanity we think we have discovered some of the great truths of science and technology... but in fact we are just beginning to re-discover the wisdom and technologies of those in the past. Who we are and what our future holds is found by studying our past civilizations. How far does 'intelligent' man go back. Some claim over 1 billion years...maybe even further, while others hold to much shorter estimations from Nomad tent dwellers in the most superstitious and ignorant times of our history. . . But in order for us to do an intelligent study we need to throw away the 'myths' of our past cultures, and even our more recently preconceived evolution, i.e. "Lucy" the ape, was not a part of man's evolutionary scale. Evidence now shows that "Lucy" was just an Ape... just as "the Java Man" was alsonot a missing link. Although these two examples have been proven as a hoax, (much to the delight of those perpetrating even larger hoaxes of religion,) some do not want to recognize their mistakes and still go on in search of the 'missing link' between apes and man.

I would suggest that the evidence we have had all along leads us to a much different conclusion for our evolution. . . if not from the start, somewhere soon afterwards. But let's back up and look at some of this evidence, and what connection it has to Hitler's thoughts!

Dato Zhvaniain in his excavation of  the medieval town of Dmanisi, (50 miles south-west of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi,) found the almost perfectly preserved skull of the most ancient human being ever found in Europe - 1.8 million years old.
More interestingly, it threw into question all accepted theories about the migration of our monkey ancestors out of Africa.

Recent excavations in the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang,( a province of Asia) have uncovered more than 100 naturally mummified corpses of non Asian people who lived there between 4,000 B.C.E and 2,400 B.C.E. years ago. Indicating that the Aryan race of red and blonde hair with blue or green eyes lived in this area at one time.

There are 3,000-year-old rock engravings of these people as well, similar to ones found in Bulgaria and the Ukraine. The characters have long noses, long faces and round eyes. According to the ancient Chinese, these people had red hair, bluish-green eyes and had long noses as well.  The nature of these findings has lead to some interesting possible connections with ancient cultures, myths and archaeological finds. . . such as the strange Taklamakan mummies in China. Their tales describe powerful gods with orange or blonde hair and other unusual attributes. Although no one knows for certain what they looked like, descriptions, such as of their female war-leader Eriu, indicate tall attractive people with pale skin, high foreheads, long red hair and large blue eyes. Other descriptions indicate blonde hair with blue eyes.

Taken from the Lhasa Record, and other ancient manuscripts, the Muvians (from Mu, "the cradle of civilization") were similar looking as well as great navigators and sailed all over the world - much as the Atlanteans, from the fabled Atlantis, are purported to have done and later the Phoenicians, being also a great maritime nation. It also mentions that these white people were the dominant group on Mu, (This can be as the rule of thumb in the Israelite tradition as well, through the Tribe of Dan) . In all probability, the white people represented the priestly and patrician class of the different populations. They were also reputed to have been great builders, too - another thing they had in common with the Atlanteans.

The records from ancient Ireland describe a whole series of invasions by these same blond and red haired people. The "Lebor Gabala Erren " ("The Book of the Taking of Ireland"), compiled during the 12th century A.D. describes the coming of the mysterious Tuatha de' Danann or Tribe of Danu. They were apparently tall, blond or red-haired, expert in cunning arts, who supposedly interbred with the locals, while teaching them many kinds of useful skills. If these people they called the Danann cross-bred with locals, they would have left  descendants who look somewhat like themselves. Those people would have looked different and maybe even acted differently. They apparently had leadership skills, and were wiser and stronger then the average person of that time.

The Danann are reported to be an aristocratic race of hunters, scientists, poets, and musicians. Preferring their privacy, they were able to make themselves invisible but still kept in touch with the human race. Having fought wars of their own in the past, they are opposed to them now. Their architecture is a marvel in mathematics and engineering beyond our own capacity to do anything more than appreciate.

'MUSIC' is their principal MAGIC - meaning the controlled use of sound waves HARMONICS to lift and move massive objects possibly up to and including planet sized bodies, though the technology probably has its limits. Their megaliths serve a variety of functions, being used for geodetic markers, recorders of mathematical measurements, observatories, and in some cases as military strongholds (at least at one time) We see evidence of this technology in the construction of numerous large structures, but still have no ability to copy it.

There are many stories of aerial ships or "demon ships" in the Irish annuals.
According to the mythic tales the  Danann were advanced enough to arrive in western Ireland by air. They also had tomb paintings that closely resembled our future three stage rockets. . .we called the paintings "The missile of Merowe."

Everything about them is simultaneously simply but complex. Their graphics communicate on at least three levels at the same time, being pictorial, mathematical and verbal. The verbal also communicates on at least two levels at one time, almost invariably incorporating puns and double entendres.

When they interact with man, it is often through their dreams and in riddles or parables, a pattern consistent with gods of all cultures, seeming to prefer inspiring from behind the scenes, to any kind of direct communication. (Think, the Wizard of OZ, pillars of clouds, burning bushes, parables, fiction books like Jules Vern's and even our now "Holy books". . .) When overt contact is necessary, they assume the guise of the Corn Mother, Angels, Yahweh, kachinas, certain musicians. . . or whatever is appropriate for that culture. There is a strong circumstantial evidence for this race's continual intervention on a number of levels in man's development from the crudely physical, to the artistic, scientific and esoteric.

They apparently cover their tracks with hypnosis and probably drugs or some other high technology, to cloud the memory of their contacts. . .we presume that to be true in certainly many instances in Art and literature of the greats. Ever wondered how Dr. Seus managed to write all his best works totally out of it on drugs? (Or so was claimed) Or how Elvis or the Beetles managed to put out such inspired, political and ahead of their time music, all while high too. . .Makes me wonder. . .but there may be no connection.

When looking at the past again though, through the eyes of ancient superstitious people, what we honor now, the people of the past would look on much better then just honor then. They would often bestow "godhead" on a "normal" person for feats of strength, valor, trickery/science, or just being good looking, smart or rich. Like in the movie "10,000 BC" where they show one of the last of these unique pale people who were building the pyramids as a claimed "god", but he is later killed when all the slave humans revolt and they find him to be human after all.  So when I look for people in history who may have fit these descriptions, I would likely find tall, or "ruddy", "magicians" that are in places of honor like kings, gods or Angels.

So, looking from one source I know well,
I wondered about some of the trickiest verses in the Bible, and how it may connect; Genesis 6:1-4 "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God (benei ha-elohimsaw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they took them wives of all which they chose. . . When the sons of God (benei ha-elohim) came unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men (ha-gibborim) which were of old, men of renown."

Could these "abductions" from these "sons of God" have been what other people would have called visits by human looking Angels? Could they have even been the cause for so many claims of virgins who gave birth to half-God's (or whole God's in the Christian tradition) in those times, and in numerous spots, all over the world? Considering the persuasive powers these superior people would have had over a naive and possibly scared superstitious woman in that society, it stands to reason that it would not be easy to stand up to them. Many people have theorized that the woman had surgeries to artificially mess with their DNA, and would have not known that they were pregnant, until they gave birth to a unusual looking creature or "mighty man", it could be looked on as proof that they had a God magically impregnate them.

There seems to be many examples in the Bible of both red headed leaders, and tall leaders. . .but sometimes it is also lost to history what they looked like, yet their lineage leaves questions. . .

Now, so far, I have stuck to history and the Bible, but science has more interesting thoughts to add to the story . . . What if, like a good fiction book, some recent movies put out have some actual facts in them concerning Aliens? . . .and I'm not talking about Canadians here! Movies like "Transformers, dark of the moon" show historical footage of the moon landing and make some speculations with it. What I'm finding out now is that it's pretty much proven to not be just speculation, that "the race to the moon" was likely all about seeing a crashed space craft from another planet like in the movie. And now it is known that the stuff that was recovered from there, and other Alien sites, is at "Area 51" or the UFO wherehouse Hanger 18 known to be located at Wright Patterson Airforce base and other top secret spots. Those are well known not to be just speculation now as well.

Then there's the movie Thor, that shows a strong, tall, blond man from another world coming here, and falling in love, and I can only guess what would happen next given more time. . .another Hercules. So were there Aliens masquerading as many different named people down throughout history, and are they possibly still coming and going even now?

In the past, and still now, scientist have argued that if alien life exists it is unlikely to be compatible with human life. (Like the Transformers, or little green men.) Any while that theory does coincide with stories like the Hopi Indians being helped by the Snake people or Ant people in their building of these massive structures they should have otherwise been incapable of building, there could have been different species of Aliens.

Because of this misconception of how different they were, and that they lacked the ability to alter DNA, any claims of alien abductions, are regarded as absurd.  DNA profiling techniques go to the very heart of one of the key claims behind the alleged alien abduction agenda. It provides an opportunity for testing the credibility of such claims. If such claims are true then there should be some compatibility in the DNA of alleged alien specimens, but some possible anomalies may be evident that would perhaps not be readily reconciled with what we know of human DNA variability. This technique has been tested in one abduction case to date, in an investigation of a biological sample - a blonde hair -  The original analysis confirmed the hair came from someone who was biologically close to normal human genetics, but of an unusual racial type - a rare Chinese Mongoloid type - one of the rarest human lineages known, that lies further from the human mainstream than any other except for African pygmies and aboriginals. There was the strange anomaly of the hair being blonde to clear, instead of black in color, (as the rest of Chinese people's hair). The original DNA work was done on the shaft of the hair. Fascinating further anomalies were found in the root of the hair. Two types of DNA were found depending on where the mitochondrial DNA testing occurs, namely confirming the rare Chinese type DNA in the hair shaft and indicating a rare possible Basque/Gaelic type DNA in the root section.

Other world people or Aliens have always been a touchy subject because of it's implications - but touchy or not - truth never goes away and through the years, more and more evidence has come forth to prove them.

What we do know is the following:
    • In July 1947, a piloted, maneuverable aerial vehicle, (i.e. space ship) originating from off of our world, was recovered with most material going to Wright Patterson Field's Hanger 18. Witnesses to the event were heavily intimidated, and the craft was reversed engineered (taken apart) .

    • Years after, in 1953, a CIA sponsored Robertson panel, recommended that the media be used to deflect attention from the subject. Media is still being used for this as could be evidenced in the televised 2005 Peter Jennings Report. Civilian UFO groups were infiltrated by CIA according to the Panel's suggestion and private citizens involved in UFO research were illegally spied upon.

    • What we believe is that the government began investigating, no later than 1958, the possibility that the off world race behind the Roswell crash was one 'parallel' to our own and 'connected' to human life from 'antiquity'. That they may be instead of 'little green men' none other than our 'ancestors'.

    • From this same period, NASA was formed for space exploration and "The Brookings Documentspeculated that our 'discovery of alien artifacts on MARS, THE MOON and VENUS' was inevitable.

    • By 1966 the presence of a past celestial race became a CERTAINTY, when Soviet lunar probes photographed regular structures in the SEA OF STORMS and the BLAIR CUSPIDS were discovered in the MOON'S SEA OF TRANQUILITY, the latter being the first landing spot of the APOLLO MISSIONS.

    • Astronomers' records make it conceivable that limited government study of off world artifacts began decades prior. And the records claim some of the ruins on the moon are a half a million years old.

    • It is impossible that the government did not have awareness of our Martian connection by 1961. Government awareness of the Martian connection continues to be evidenced in the dissembling over the discoveries of the Viking probes in 1976, as well as subsequent Mars probes.

    • Hitler sent an expedition to the South pole to follow up on talk of a hollow earth after America's Admiral Byrd came back and was silenced. Soon after he named and claimed a small section of the pole, that though though it became a no fly zone, and even was more recently deleted on Google earth, we can now see it through weather patterns and leaked satellite pictures, as well as Byrd's journal now made public. Now we know they found a massive, warm spot and a huge hole. We know the government is hiding it, but it is too obvious now to hide. See this movie for more info.

    • Before world war II ended, Robert Oppenheimer, inventor of the A-bomb, stated that Alamogordo  was not the first atomic bomb to go off, just the first "in modern history". He later admitted that he got the idea for technological "help from them" pointing to the UFO files.

    • In 1974 the Government also weakly admitted that leaps in post World war II technology owes something to "the people of other worlds".

    • There is every indicator that all world governments know about them and have taken the issue very seriously. HOWEVER, elected officials seem to have little knowledge of the subject and are blocked in every instance that they try to gain more. The military, the intelligence agencies, and the president (by virtue of executive privilege with the NSA) are therefore in a unique position of power in their isolated knowledge of the subject.

    • It would seem that the off world visitors reason for being here are little known at this time. It does seem that there is no hostile intent though, being that if there were, we would have known it by now. We can base this on their actions. They evade when pursued, fire only when fired upon, and despite unquestionable superiority, do not exploit their advantage in any discernible attempt for invasion or conquest. They are plainly 'unfriendly' towards military though. They are monitoring our industrial and military capacity as we speak.

    • We do have lots of evidence of abductions and contacts.

The number of Alien abductions per area that have been reported to date.

    1. One of the purposes of contact seem to be to establish ambassadors between us and them, the indications being that the 'off-worlders' are in the process of gradually preparing our world for a more open relationship with them.

    1.  Surgery of the abductees seem to be to assist their reproduction and to do implants, the probable purpose of the latter being to locate them in subsequent visits and communications.

    • Although, there may be other 'off-worlders' out there, it seems the most likely candidates for the intelligence behind the crafts we seem to be seeing most, besides our governments black op projects, would be the race historically called 'the gods', under a variety of names, depending upon religion and geography, would be such terms as Anunnaki, Elohim, Nefilim, Watchers, TUATHA DE DANAAN, and the like.

    • At this time, little or no real evidence, supports any other type of 'off-worlder' visiting us then those of a human type.  We can not rule out what we may possibly find in the interior of our planet though.

    • What we do know about this race is that there was an early generation, along with Earth's human race that appears to have been here initially to be mining slaves and were all but wiped out in a cosmic catastrophe which we refer to as THE FLOOD. Many among this early extraterrestrial community became corrupt and subverted our race into criminal behavior like their own.

    • Survivors from both their race and ours eventually met again, beginning with their re-education of our race in the arts of civilization.  At least thee or four generations or different races of technologically advanced people are listed in the CELTIC MYTHOLOGY, with counterparts in other world myths, as well as our own primitive Earthbound race, which they (DANAAN ) conquered with extreme ease and ruled over in peace for some time before being torn apart themselves by Civil War. At one point, their fear of our potential to rival them caused them to disperse us over the Earth to 'confuse our speech'.

    • Though communications between the Alien race and our own continued, they were severely curtailed and went underground. Man's civilization degenerated, his science becoming all but nonexistent for hundreds of years. The DANAAN (a collective convention-name to avoid confusion), always protective of their technology and secrets, were demonized by the various religions that were established by them long ago, since corrupted by man through ignorance. . .never accepting what we don't understand.

    • From active persecution by the Church in the Dark Ages, man digressed to the point that he dealt with the problem of the gods and their descendants through ridicule, in time ascribing the space races to personifications of psychological projections, bedtime fables, and sanitized surrogates such as fairies, the boogeyman and Santa Claus.

    • There has never been a time in man's history that these people were absent.  The only difference today is that there is much more evidence of the encounters, and contact is becoming increasingly visible, and seen with less superstition.

    • Given the tremendous increase of activity on the part of this ancient race, and especially its ongoing and intimately personal nature on a large scale, it is not unreasonable to assume that we are presently undergoing the transition into what has been called "a new Golden Age" where the "holy race" will let themselves be made known to men.
As was predicted by Enoch before he was "taken" by "God":

"In those days shall the elect and holy race descend from the upper heavens, and their seed shall then be with the sons of men."
    Enoch, 39:1
References to Enoch in the Bible are scant indeed. Everything about Enoch in the Old Testament can be read in less than a minute (see Genesis 5:18–24). The New Testament book of Jude adds only two more verses (see Jude 1:14–15). And the book of Hebrews explains in one verse that "by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God" (Hebrews 11:5). Outside of the Bible, though, the body of Enoch material is extensive. In apocryphal sources Enoch is a popular figure and receives significant attention. The collection known as  Enoch is comparable in size to the biblical book of Isaiah and is believed by scholars to have been "created, transmitted, and developed in 'pious' Jewish circles of the 4th to 1st centuries B.C.E."
Among the early Christians, Enoch was obviously well known. According to R. H. Charles, an early twentieth-century expert on the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, the book of Enoch had more influence on the New Testament "than ... all the other apocryphal and pseudepigraphical works taken together."

Where the Danaan/space race/gods/Aliens  originated from is the question - not 'do they exist and whether they are actually here.' For that, I have already explained and the answer - if you haven't figured it out yet - is 'yes' .
Evidence appears equally strong for their planet of origination being inside or outside our solar system, though simple logic would favor the former. The Danaan could have begun on Mars and moved to Earth in antiquity or Mars may merely be one of their bases.  The demolished remains that comprise the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, mythically referred to as Tiamat, is another credible possibility.

It is possible that they came from Sirius lOrion or the Pleiades, but the evidence of their use of three stage rockets in ancient Egypt would seem to indicate their technology at that time insufficient to navigate farther than the closest planets.

The ancient race could have originated within our system and later developed sufficient technology to conquer the stars, or come from beyond and suffered dire setback due to unforeseen catastrophe, having to rediscover their technology afterwards.

We know just as little about where this race is presently based. Mars, as well as the moon, seem to be active bases. Evidence strongly indicates that they may be living beneath the surface of Mars and probably have for a long time.

                                                               Signs of life on Mars

"It is time for all truths to be revealed. Fear is born out of ignorance and knowledge dispels fear."

First CIA Director Rear Admiral Hillenkoetter, who was in on the entire study from the very beginning, stated in his opinion in 1960 that:
"THE PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW. It is time for the truth to be brought out in open Congressional hearings... through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense."

One of many real pictures taken of the UFO's

If there was once reason to withhold information regarding UFOs from the public, it has since operated to our own detriment to continue doing so. The vacuum of ignorance has led people to speculate on the ugliest possible conspiracy scenarios, or to find dangerous if not  hostile aliens behind the phenomenon, where none exist.
"IT IS SELF EVIDENT THAT THE PUBLIC BE TOLD THE TRUTH, because ultimately it will nevertheless come to light. There can hardly be any greater shock than the H-bomb and yet everybody knows of it without fainting."
"Our leaders are presented with an awesome dilemma. Such an admission would lead to a deluge of questions, some of which simply cannot be answered without disclosing vital defense interests; alarming cases of missing aircraft; abductions; genetic experiments; and bizarre cases that will remain beyond our comprehension for centuries to come. In this respect I am fully in sympathy with the current official policy."
The best we can expect of the government, on this matter, is that they open all of its files and assume a cooperative attitude with researchers and press - in other words, the secret government be abolished and a genuine democracy be restored.

So now you can see how it seems that down through time, the race always thought to be superior ( including by Hitler -though ironically he was not part of it-) was apparently white skinned, and with red and blonde hair. What that means now is up for debate of course.

My thought was not to justify white supremacy, or brag though. I stumbled on this info while looking for the origin of red hair. I found it very interesting! I actually looked for evidence of the race now being so deluded that there would be no connection to the Aliens anymore. What I found was more evidence that there was continued interbreeding with them though.

Did you hear, like I did a while back, that all red hair should be dying out soon? Based on genetics of the red headed people we see around, that is suppose to have been true. . .and yet for some reason, red haired people are multiplying rapidly! (And it's not just because it is the most popular color to dye your hair in some places). Where it was rare even a generation ago, it is now seen everywhere you turn! Could it be that there is a gene that is dominant in that race? Or are the out- of- worlders continuing to "abduct" married woman and just use the mind altering drugs to make woman forget? If red or blond hair wasn't obvious in your parents genes, yet you have it, you might ask, "where did it came from?" Could you be a son or daughter of a "god"? Christians already think they are I suppose, but they need to realize that their God is probably, (if he existed in any form) just as human as us.
